Just one of the photos someone sent me of their cat all dressed up. She sent me another hilarious photo so hopefully later this week I'll have a better drawing of that.

Turtle Madness!

I've been toning for about 9 hours straight getting up only to use the bathroom and to eat or stretch. My eyes are thirsty as hell and all I can think of is the Ninja Turtles. You would think that after toning nothing but Ninja Turtles I would be tired of them but I'm starting to enjoy their personalities and doodling them is also pleasing. I think I'm starting to get "Turtle Madness"!!!! I'm starting to think of little stories and little scenarios I'd like to put them in. Odd, no? I think so. I need to just walk away from the monitor for a bit I think. Hehehehehehehehehehe! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, it's about time for a little break...

Work Week

This week has been a little crazy. I'm getting ready to play at a wedding and I'm toning a Tales of the TMNT issue for Mirage. It's gotten down to crunch time and I'm still not prepared for the wedding. I've been spending most of my time on the comic which was due on the 27th of this month. It's been wonderful working so much it just reminds me of school a lot. It reminds me of finals week at the end of each semester. I didn't enjoy it then but atleast I'm getting paid for it now. I think it felt worse then because I was paying the school for it. I've learned a hell of a lot more since I left school. I've learned more this year working for Mike (Manley)than all three years at DCAD. I did however meet him there. He was my teacher then and now is a good friend. I work for him and I can't imagine not ever knowing him. I think my life would have changed for the worst. I felt like... well like a fish swimming in a stream with a whole lot of fish. Swimming in the direction the stream told us to, and Mike came along and saw me and picked me up out of the water and told me to swim in the opposite direction because there's a waterfall at the end of the stream.

Here's my work area for the moment, full of coca cola's and M&M's and all sorts of goodies. I've got my music playing and all my toys around me. I never would have imagined doing what I do when I was 10. I think I wanted to be a vetrenerian and help animals when I was little. Later my mother met my art teacher at the time, Senor Velazquez, a painter and singer after hours. They hit it off for a while and during that while he would let me sit with him as he painted. I wathced him paint Puerto Rican flags and murals the size of houses and whatched him sing to my mother and all that time I said to myself, " I want to be an artist when I grow up." He had shown me how to see the world. He told me on the porch one day, " Sometimes you just have to look at the plants and the sky and everyone around you and you can see life changing." I was very young but I understood what he meant. I enjoyed life and the color of it all. My mom served us Kool-Aid and buttered crackers that day. It's crazy how little things like that stay with you. I think I'll remember that day on the church for a long time. Maybe I'll never forget.

Shooting on Route 1

Me and my friend, Sheila, just went for a drive down Rt. 1 and we found this barn. It was kind of scary, it felt like someone was still there and you didn't really want to look too carefully into the windows or any shadowy area. Even when I was messing around with these shots I didn't want to zoom in and see a face looking back out. It was fun though. The sun was going down really fast and we managed to get lost for a while along the canal, which was enough thrill for one day.

Later that night our friends Amanda,Val and Melissa gave us a call to meet up at a parking lot and just shoot eachother but I didn't have my camera. I luckily had my chip so I just borrowed Melissa's camera and took this shot of the parking lot real quick. There was a crack on the cement that matched up with the tree's shadow and it humored me. How many things in the world do I not see or catch. Simple things that would humor me. I'm very easily amused if you can't tell.
